It is intense ruby-red in colour with violet hues. It has a fresh aroma of berries with a peppery note. On the palate it is supple and velvety with good structure and moderate acidity. Wine Advocate Coltibuono’s 2004 Cancelli (70% Sangiovese and 30% Syrah) presents a lively translucent color and a fresh, vinous personality in its juicy, plummy fruit with excellent length and a clean, satisfying finish. This beautifully well-proportioned wine should drink well now and over the next two to three years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010.
