Here are some short bio's to familiarize you with TWM staff members.

- L.C. "Bud" Saylor • Owner:
-
Ph.D. in Genetics and Professor at North Carolina State University for 32 years. Became interested in wine in the 1960's when consulting frequently in California. A member of the American Society of Wine Educators for 18 years; during that time traveled extensively to the vineyards and wineries in all regions of the US. Achieved the distinguished rank of "Master Knight" in the North Carolina chapter of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine, an exclusive international wine society. A pioneer in wine education in the Triangle Area since 1981 when the first TWM store was opened. To promote more enjoyable wine experiences, taught (for over 25 years) wine seminars and classes ranging from Introductory to Advanced Courses.

RALEIGH
Jason Kaczor • Manager:
Attended the University of Massachusetts and Monmouth University with a BS in Biology. Became interested in wine at an early age when traveling extensively in Europe. Continued to gain knowledge of wine and food by attending and participating in seminars and courses and through employment in wine and restaurant businesses. Started with The Wine Merchant in 2000 and has become very knowledgeable about email and Web Site operations as well as all store management practices. A love for and interest in wine continues to grow as does a passion to help others learn more about wine.
Patrick King • Internet Sales:
Left North Carolina State University in 1993 to continue an already established five year career in the restaurant industry. After 14 years in the restaurant business, decided to concentrate more on wine at a higher level. Joined The Wine Merchant in 2002 and increasingly became a valued team member. With a knowledge of food, an intense passion for wine and the ability to satisfy customers, has a dynamic combination of experiences to improve TWM operations, especially Internet Sales.

Kurt Saylor • Manager:

BA in Business Management Mount Olive College 1988. Became a member of the PGA in 1992, but found his real passion to be for the wine business. To better understand wines and the wine industry, worked at Deloach Winery in 1994. During that period, experienced all phases of the wine making process from harvest to the bottle. With a newly developed understanding and respect for wine, returned to the family business and became manager in 1996. Has traveled extensively in the wine country of California and periodically in Europe to enhance wine knowledge. Continues to conduct classes and tastings and consults in all phases of wine appreciation.

Justin Gregg • Assistant Manager:
BA in Hospitality Managment/Parks and Recreation at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Spent 14 years in the restaurant business in Wilmington and Raleigh in various positions including manager. Interest in wine and food started during this period and has continued to increase significantly, especially in the area of food and wine pairing. Began working for The Wine Merchant in 2008.
